I hate writing about the same topic over & over, but on this one there just doesn’t seem to be an end & the plot just keeps thickening. It’s one of those train wrecks you can’t help but watch and it’s everywhere…from the television at night to the radio in the morning.

Jon has new girlfriend(s) while Kate tries to busy herself with the kids and emotional interviews. The blonde girlfriend (referred to as Kate 2.0) quits her prestigious position at Star magazine for this flawless (in her eyes man) and then turns on him and states that he is confused and she feels betrayed by him. She must have been too busy caring for his wounded soul to have had time to tune into Kate’s interview where she plainly stated that she didn’t feel like he knew what he wanted.

I seriously couldn’t believe that no one stopped this girl from going on national television when she is now obviously in a state of confusion herself. The reporter questioning her obviously didn’t care how low she went when taking advantage of this chic’s vulnerable state. I guess she now knows what it feels like on the other side of things, huh? “And were you “romantically involved” with Jon?” “On how many occassions?” “We just want to know to set the record straight?”

Then there is the other brown headed girlfriend (daughter of Kate’s plastic surgeon) who is enjoying her 5 seconds of fame and has various unflattering pictures surfacing. She tells the camera how in love her and Jon are and they seem to be enjoying the high (no pun intended) life like care-free college kids. I’m sure their bubble will also soon pop, leave another big fat mess and the crash and burn will play out.

So what started off as the filming of a family in a very American and traditional setting minus the extreme number if kids, has turned into a three ring circus similar to a Brittney Spears concert. There were signs that this could happen. There were the edgy Ed Hardy Tee’s & Kate’s unconventional haircut (which by the way, will be available for you to also have this Halloween) along with the age factor that gave off the vibe of these two not necessarily being as straight laced as they were coughed up to be.

But could TLC or anyone else have ever guessed what would’ve happened after the youngest were old enough to walk?

The hard part of course is that the children not only have to experience divorce but that they have to do so in front of the entire world. They are witnessing their parent’s imperfections at a young age. So what if any good is to come from this reality show gone more realistic than people were prepared for? This type of situation in fact does happen all the time. It’s just that because it is so painful for some and a part of life that very few want to acknowledge or deal with that no one in their right mind would want to be filmed during it.

But these two and their children signed up unknowingly and if nothing else, it gives more truth to no one is perfect along with a front row seat of divorce and it’s reality. Maybe it’s a lesson in two people who had the best intentions along with that loving feeling, simply not having the skills in making a marriage work. There’s nothing new there other than it all being filmed and these eight children are the ones being singled out rather than the other millions that experience it every day.
