That is an interesting point. The only reason I put threw that in there is b/c I've heard that concerning movies in general. There aren't necessarily "white" movies out there b/c a majority of movies have white actors in them & it is what we are used to seeing - it's just a movie - so we don't think about things in that sense. However as more movies come out that have majority black actors in them become more & more common, I think the concept will be phased out entirely & making movies that appeal to all races will be the goal.

I'm very happy the princess is finally Black. Having a white prince teaches a lot more about "tolerance." Children of other races will not only see a Black character, but also an interracial couple. Bravo Disney (finally) - and you can't fault them for going after the green - hey, that's what business is all about.

My conclusion is that there is probably a more likely theory of trying to appeal to a wider audience and the movie not being typecast as a “black disney” movie.

When I first read that, it made sense to me and I moved on. Then I thought about it.

Why is appealing to a wider audience only a consideration when certain aspects are involved?
Did they have this issue when they made Mulan?

What about?
-The Little Mermaid
-Aladdin
-Beauty and The Beast

I'm not even including Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Cinderella due to the time they were made.

It's just an interesting point. I don't have a side on the issue, but I do think that the Prince is kind of cute.
