Who’s Really More Important…President or Parent?
If you are breathing with a pulse, then you have heard about the financial crisis and all the craziness that surrounds our world. The price of everything is going up just like the unemployment rate. I’m not sure where you live, but here in Charlotte, NC we are out of gas. One station out of every 8 may have some and I don’t want to even think of what things will be like tomorrow.
We live in a world where war is the answer and life is not safe, secure or healthy. This election is historical, but also typical. Historical due to race and gender, typical because as usual, everyone is looking to the next elected president to save them from the madness of the world that we have all created.
Life is often hard, challenging and hectic. At this point most people are still just trying to survive physically, even with new technology and daily life conveniences. We say that the future of the earth and the world is left up to future generations, however before those future generations emerge, there are the parents that are there to help mold, shape, influence and raise them. These are the same parents that are working 40 hours a week, figuring out how they are going to be able to afford a place to live, much less braces and college.
The job of a president and a government is to try to manage, control and change the conflict, chaos and disease in the world. As parents, we are the ones that help to create the children that either help to eliminate or contribute to that conflict, chaos and dis-ease. We help to determine whether our world will continue to be plagued by these things. Parent’s help to grow and determine the world’s future and even existence, not the president. Sure, mother nature and the earth have it’s own agenda, but concerning what type of people roam the earth and create our world…that’s the job of a parent.
So where’s all the hoopla around who’s going to be the next parent like there is concerning who is going to be the next president? Unfortunately, I don’t think I will see the day when it is a parent that is given the same value if not more value to society than to…yes, even the president.
