Has Christy Brinkley Gone Too Far?

Posted by Laurel on July 7th, 2008

Seems like Christy Brinkley is making waves with her attempt to make her ex-husband look like a porn watching, adulterer. The question is, is it in the best interest of her children ? There’s no doubt that he made mistakes. However how many other men out there haven’t done similar things and made even more stupid mistakes by trying to cover it up?

$300,000 worth of hush money wasn’t too shabby, but apparently it wasn’t enough to keep the truth from someone like Christy Brinkley. So do his mistakes warrant her getting full custody of the children?

I think too often it is too easy for women (and yes, I am one of them ) to play the victim card which can cause a lot of pain and strife concerning the father and their children’s relationship. If someone hurts you (which usually if you are in a relationship with another human being long enough, they will) then you have the right to make the decision to leave them, but you shouldn’t have the right to dictate their relationship with their children.

Was Christy herself the perfect wife and mother? Will any dirty laundry of hers be aired out into the public like his is? Maybe not in the obvious sense with him painting the picture, but maybe that’s because seems to be doing a good enough job of that on her own. No good can come from a lengthy courtroom drama and battle, regardless of how wronged someone feels.

If she looks in the mirror long enough to see her own imperfections ( how ironic that someone as seemingly physically perfect as Christy Brinkley is, has a few), then maybe she would be able to see past her anger and spare her children, herself and even her flawed husband further unnecessary persecution.
